For the love of orange...

I've got an orange crush. I think it rocks. Yes red and pink are delicious but what is it about orange that makes everything, everyone happy?? It's such a spunky, vibrant color and yet its kind of underrated to its more popular sister's pink and red. Although its been getting its due lately and it sure did this week at mi casa, front and center.

Say hello to my orange door! Whatdya think? Perfect timing for Fall aeh? I must admit, I pull around the corner and it makes me smile every time. From here on out I'll be saying "yeah I live in the house with the orange door"... the little things.

In honor of my favorite color here are some more happy photographs of this easy breezy pop of color.

Just look what it did for this space?! You know I cannot for the life of me remember where this picture came from. It looks a lot like Ashley Goforth but I'm not finding it under her portfolio. If you know, please pass it on. I hate to not give this talent their DUE.

This home was featured on the cover of Traditional Home and I fell in love with the beams and their criss cross pattern. The orange chairs definitely give it some beat.

Sweet Lauren Leiss of Pure Style Home's gorgeous foyer and orange front door (wonder twin powers activate!).

"Decadent" is the first word that comes to mind below via Veranda Magazine. You know that's somewhere in New Orleans and probably by the great Gerrie Bremermann. Look at the orange in the rug and those roses!

This shot is for sure Mrs. Bremermann. You could get lost in all those gorgeous panels!!!

These folks, via Lonny magazine, painted their dark hallway "Outrageous Orange" by Benjamin Moore and say its now "an experience". Gotta love that description.

Sucks to be the person that hangs out here: not.

I had the ultra fun job of selecting the invite for my Father-in-law's 70th birthday bash. I am wild about graphic design and just couldn't resist this design.

The exterior of the new Jonathan Adler store in the Westside Village, Atlanta.

Paris! Oui! Oui!

Outdoor seating at the Westside Village. I'm in this part of town a lot for work and eat my lunch here often. Couldn't resist snapping a shot of these happy seats.

The world according to Gwyneth! Love her cookbook by the way. If you haven't checked it out yet, do. The introduction made me weepy as she explains her Father's love of cooking as an expression, extension of his love of family.  I couldn't help but think of Mom and her amazing home-cooked meals she'd churn out night, after night, after night. How did she do that?! LOVE. I only wish I'd been able to tell her how fricken fantastic they were. To this day we all sit around and salivate listing our favorites. One more reason to write down those recipes if you've been lagging. xo

Bold and beautiful!

Suzanne Kasler's not afraid of orange.

One of my favorite vignettes. The orange leather is luscious! I like the layering of the mirror and art and the great texture the branches bring.

Pfff who doesn't love an orange Hermes box?! That table is divine and I've got serious cape envy.

More Hermes. Look how great the orange looks with the turquoise beads?!

This makes me want to experiment. You? That is a fantastic color but I'm pretty sure its fabric. Regardless it would be fun to try to outline a simple square space with charcoal or chocolate ribbons.

Orange and red, a winning combo!

And I might die for this orange skirt. Seriously??? That outfit knocks my socks off. These girls look like they'd be a lot of fun to hang with or at the very least raid their closets.

If you haven't had enough, head on over to my "inspiring interiors" board on Pinterest for more lovely shots of orange decor. And if you are on facebook, consider becoming a fan of j.schoenberger design. We are only 25 fans shy of our first GIVE-A-WAY!!! And here's a hint...it's orange. ;-)))

I hope your weekend is absolutely fabulous!! It's more work than play for Jenny but that's okay, I'm crazy grateful for it. The beach project is ready for take off and then its on to my favorite adopted city, Birmingham, Alabama for the second install. Oy! In between I'll be watching my beloved MSU Spartans on ESPN's game day and maybe catch a glimpse of my girlfriends cheering on the big GREEN!  Thanks so much for stopping by today. Take great care out there! xoxo Jen

If I were paid to pick...

Two of my favorite t.v. shows are Picker Sisters and American Pickers and what designer doesn't dream about having his or her own storefront to style and showcase their skills, even if its just for a little while? So when I was perusing through one of my local stops on the circuit it was a "hit" kind of day and compelled me to photograph all the great finds and great prices I would of selected had I owned such a spot.

This Belgian-inspired chaise for the bedroom. To die and so is the vintage gold and cream dress laying at the foot!

I would of killed for this French Provincial dining table in my first house as a young married couple, two ruffled benches on either side would have been a dream.

I'm totally in love with these 1950's retro gold lamps! Tried to make them work for a client and then me. I know they'll end up on the should of bought list. Also a big fan of the oversized herringbone pattern on the barstools to the right. Classic pattern oversized for today's modern world.

See what it did for this antique chair from the super-talented Fran Keenan. This precious bedroom was her daughters with quilt curtains, alphabet stencils and family heirloom furniture. See her entire creative and inspirational home HERE featured in Cottage Living.

This beautiful petite antique chandelier would go ANYWHERE and if my memory serves me right it was around $300 or less.

I love everything about this vignette. The starburst mirror, the crystal lamps (hubba hubba) and the antique mule pine chest.

Hah! Don't do it...;-)

Love this shape and scale for lampshades and not so easy to come by when needed.

Reminded me of these wood veneer pendants I came across recently at Cost Plus World Market that also come in burlap (!), not yet featured on their website. All three for $59. Buy two sets and share a matching pair with a friend.

How cute is this for a breakfast table?

This desk was a find, rock solid and less than $400! It looked to me like a very expensive and very impressive piece of furniture. You?

Custom-built lamps out of old porch pickets.

I went back to purchase this antique pine chest for my son's bedroom and sadly it was gone. The time to buy antiques is when you see them. I know better.

This pillow caught my eye and so did the iron door behind it. So many possibilities for both.

Great looking column and shutter. I'm a slave to pairs though...had they had two I might of had to splurge for the dining room or on either side of my front door in the foyer. Be cute with white pumpkins set atop this time of year. Notice the Country Living Fair brochures coming soon to Atlanta the weekend of October 21st. Yours truly will be there camera in tow.

This is a FANTASTIC dining table. I bet if they cleared it of all the dishes it would sell in a day.

Great lines on this bentwood chair. Would work in many different themes.

Cute side table for $45 small ones. Wire basket equally impressive. These look really great suspended on walls as shelves.

This hip little chair has tons of potential.

Awesome basket for the beach house, the hearth, the bath or the mud room in your life.

The palladium window tucked behind caught my eye. A great focal piece in any room.

This vintage waiter is the best! I thought in a kitchen with a candle perched on its tray.

Just an all around beautiful vignette from the santos figure, the butcher block (would make a great island in a small kitchen) and the vintage pigskin for the sports enthusiast, to name a few.

and lastly a great idea to get you in the spirit.

HAPPY FALL TO YOU ALL!!!!!
