I don't have the words this week. We live in a world of over communication, texting, tweeting, status updates, where words like grateful, fortunate, blessed become mundane and don't quite pack the punch they use to.
I'm that girl this week. This happens every Summer as I pack for my trip home to Michigan for the month of July. Since moving away, I've dreamed about this opportunity and when it finally sneaks up on me, I'm overwhelmed with the reality of how lucky I am to get away. I miss my family, friends, the food, the D, my small town life, where time stands still. I'm so alright with that. The sidewalk never ends and there's a familiar face at every turn. Its easy. Its slow. Its home. Its what I know and I love every minute of it.
To top it off, it was a beautiful week of family time and fabulous friends to send me on my way.
This was the spread of "poptails" at the pool this week hosted by my fierce friends, who don't f. around when it comes to throwing parties. Hydrangeas and herbs cut from their yards in Mason jars and six different frozen cocktails on a stick along with some mean and nasty good dips and desserts. I promise to track down the hot corn and jalapeno dip along with the smores dessert but for now check out a sample of these frozen goodies HERE, HERE and HERE.
It takes days for me to come down from nights like these and again don't quite have the words to thank my girlfriends for loving me like they do.
My kiddos had a great week playing HARD with new friends and old. We will miss them. I tried to pack in as much play time for them as I could and still didn't hit everyone on their sleepover list. I'm hoping they sleep the entire drive to Michigan.
Soph's last day of camp performance. Team orange! Mama loved that.
I signed Soph up for art camp and Jack up for football camp this week. This was the one week of the Summer I needed to finish my design work, get ready for the trip and finish all the blogs I have queued up for you in July. It's Saturday night and I'm almost there!
Jackie made the all-star baseball team for June and every weekend was in a tournament. That was new for our family. Thank God his Daddy is some kind of dedicated.
I played hard and worked hard too. A couple of my client projects are finally starting to come together - such a great feeling!
A slipcovered table I designed for a dining room I'll be sharing with you as soon as I get back.
On our way back from picking up the table, Jack and I stopped at Scottsdale Farms for a little Mother, Son lunch date and I came across this concrete bowl thinking it would make a killer powder room sink for someone. $79. Would look great as a fruit bowl on your kitchen island or stuffed to the hilt with succulents too.
Thank you for indulging me in this love fest of a post. I'm feeling incredibly blessed this week. A lot of exciting things on the horizon to share soon. I know the good Lord giveth and taketh and he split me in two once already in my young life but I can't help but think I've been on the receiving end a lot lately. Time to give back or pay it forward. Mike and I shared the beach house this week with one of my soul sisters and her children and that in itself is such a feeling. Its almost as good as being there yourself knowing they're having wonderful family time, making memories, getting a much needed break and you had a little something to do with it. We're definitely signing up for Vacations for Veterans and if you have a time share or vacation home, you might want to check it out too!

To life! And to that handsome fella sitting in the next room who makes it all possible for me to "check out" for a month and live the life I imagined. Again, no words.
